Preeclampsia cause is unknown it is often called the “disease of theories” because many causes have been proposed, yet none has been well established. occure approximately 7% of all pregnant women. Almost preeclampsia case occurs before the fetus is term. primary goals in nursing care plan for preeclampsia is prevent seizures, intracranial hemorrhage, and serious organ damage in the mother and to deliver a healthy term infant.

Physical Examination Nursing Care Plan For Preeclampsia:
  • Inspect the patient for pitting edema.
  • blood pressure more than 140/90
  • A funduscopic inspection of the retina may reveal vascular constriction and narrowing of the small arteries.
  • Auscultate the patient’s lungs
  • Weigh the patient

Diagnostic Highlights Nursing Care Plan For Preeclampsia:
  • Urine for protein and creatinine
  • Uric acid
  • Blood urea nitrogen (BUN)
  • Liver enzymes: AST, ALT, LDH,Bilirubin
  • Platelets
  • Coagulation studies
  • RBC (red blood cell)
  • Hgb (hemoglobin)
  • Hct (hematocrit)
